Mercer Island is located just east of Seattle on Lake Washington, connecting Seattle and the Eastside with the I-90 Bridge. The Island is mostly comprised of upscale residential neighborhoods and has an abundance of gorgeous waterfront properties! Access to Downtown Seattle from Mercer Island is extremely quick and easy, although it wasn’t always! A ferryboat used to be the only way to cross from Seattle to Mercer Island before 1940.
Mercer Island is located in the prime location for working in Seattle or the Eastside. Mercer Island is just a quick 20-minute drive or bus ride away from downtown Seattle. From MI, west on I90 takes you to Seattle, home of Amazon and dozens of tech companies. East on I90 brings you to the Eastside, where the Microsoft, Costco and T-Mobile Headquarters are all located, along with many more tech companies.
Spend a day boating or hiking along the waterfront or enjoy a picnic in the scenic forested Pioneer Park. Foodies will love the upscale local restaurants concentrated around 78th Avenue. Residents enjoy their views of the water and focus on their safe community and tight-knit atmosphere. The Mercer Island School district is ranked as the top school district in the state.
